The Bootstrap Farmer 10' Essential High Tunnel Kit gives backyard growers, market gardeners, and homesteaders a practical way to add protected growing space and extend the growing season without stepping up to a larger freight-shipped greenhouse.
Built around a heavy-duty 1 3/8" galvanized steel frame, the Essential High Tunnel features 4' bow spacing and nearly 8 1/2' of working height. The structure is covered with UV-treated 6 mil greenhouse plastic with a 4-year rating, providing protection for crops from wind, frost, and pests.
This package goes beyond the core Essential High Tunnel by including both the Roll-Up Side Kit and End Wall Door Kit, giving you ventilation and the framework for a locally built entrance from the start.

Bootstrap Farmer designed the Essential High Tunnel so that bulky, readily available lumber can be purchased near you rather than shipped with the greenhouse.
The amount of baseboard and end-wall lumber required depends on the length you select:

Built-In Ventilation With Roll-Up Sides
Greenhouse temperatures and airflow can change quickly as outdoor conditions change. The included Roll-Up Side Kit allows you to open the sides of the high tunnel when additional natural ventilation is needed.
Rather than building the Essential High Tunnel first and adding a roll-up system separately later, this package includes the Roll-Up Side Kit as part of your initial setup.
Build the Entrance to Fit Your Setup
The included End Wall Door Kit provides the framework needed to incorporate a door into the end wall of your high tunnel while allowing you to build the actual door locally.
A finished door is not included. Lumber for the end wall and door must also be purchased locally.
This approach gives you the included door-frame components while keeping bulky, readily available building materials out of the shipment.

The Essential High Tunnel is designed for DIY assembly using pre-bent frame components, included hardware and connectors, and step-by-step print instructions.
Before beginning assembly, choose and prepare the greenhouse location and purchase the required lumber for your selected size. The included 36" ground stakes are installed using the supplied post driver.
