A Mid-Width 12' DIY Greenhouse With Room to Spread Out
If you want more working room than a starter greenhouse without jumping to a large high tunnel, the Bootstrap Farmer 12' Wide DIY Hoop House Greenhouse Kit is a practical middle ground. It stands approximately 8 feet tall at the center and is wide enough to lay out beds or rows with a walkway. You choose a length from 20' to 100' to match your space and budget.
This is a DIY kit: you buy the frame lumber, line posts, and 1⅜" top rail at a local home improvement store and the kit supplies the rest. It includes 6 mil, 4-year greenhouse plastic sized to cover the entire greenhouse and end walls, spring lock wire and lock channel, cross connectors, a ground-post driver, frame hardware, and detailed assembly instructions.
Please note: Lumber, line posts, and 1⅜" top rail are not included and must be purchased locally. A hoop bender is also needed to shape the top rail into arches and is not included. This greenhouse kit is not eligible for returns.

For portions of the structure exposed to moisture, Bootstrap Farmer recommends redwood, cedar, or pressure-treated lumber, subject to local availability.

Your Entrance & Greenhouse Setup
Plan on a single-door configuration. The door and end walls are framed on-site with the locally sourced lumber listed on the Buy Local Chart, so you can finish the entrance as part of your build.

Getting Ready to Build
Start by checking the quantities for your chosen length and buying the lumber, line posts, and 1⅜" top rail locally. You'll also need a hoop bender to shape the top rail into arches.
The shipped kit covers the plastic, connectors, hardware, and ground-post driver, and your local materials complete the frame. Having both on hand before you begin keeps the build moving.

The 12' DIY Hoop House is assembled on-site using the components supplied by Bootstrap Farmer together with the lumber and metal purchased locally.
