FAQ

How do I choose the right size OverEZ chicken coop?

Choose your OverEZ chicken coop based on the size of your flock, while allowing room if you plan to add more chickens in the future.

  • Medium Chicken Coop: up to 10 chickens
  • Large Chicken Coop: up to 15 chickens
  • XL Chicken Coop: up to 20 chickens
  • Jumbo Chicken Coop: up to 30 chickens

For example, a flock of 12 chickens would need at least the Large Chicken Coop, while choosing the XL would provide additional room for future flock growth.

How difficult is it to assemble an OverEZ chicken coop?

OverEZ chicken coops arrive with much of the construction already completed, making final assembly relatively straightforward. According to OverEZ, most coops can be assembled in approximately 60 minutes with two people and a screw gun.

The wall and roof panels are pre-built, so you won't be starting from a pile of individual boards. Your coop will still need to be placed on a level, stable surface and assembled according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Are OverEZ coops suitable for year-round use?

Yes. OverEZ chicken coops are designed for year-round use in both hot and cold climates. They feature ventilation to promote airflow during warmer weather, while the solid wood construction provides a sturdy, sheltered space for your flock during colder months.

For winter use, proper ventilation remains important to help control moisture and condensation inside the coop. Depending on your climate, flock size, and local weather conditions, additional winter preparation may be appropriate.

Are OverEZ chicken coops designed to help protect chickens from predators?

Yes. OverEZ chicken coops include several features designed to help keep your flock secure from predators. The coops feature lockable exterior doors and a lockable nesting box, allowing you to secure your chickens inside the coop at night.

The sturdy wood construction also provides a substantial enclosed shelter for your flock. For additional daytime protection, especially in areas with active predators, consider pairing your coop with a secure enclosed chicken run.

Can I attach a run to an OverEZ chicken coop?

Yes. OverEZ chicken coops are designed to work with compatible OverEZ chicken runs, giving your flock additional protected outdoor space while maintaining access to the coop.

A run can be especially helpful when chickens cannot safely free-range throughout the day. When choosing a run, consider your flock size and how much outdoor space your chickens will have available.

Where are OverEZ chicken coops made?

OverEZ chicken coops are made in the USA and constructed by Amish-trained craftsmen. The coops are built from wood and designed specifically for backyard chicken keeping, with features such as nesting boxes, roosting areas, ventilation, and easy-access doors incorporated into the design.

How do I clean and maintain an OverEZ chicken coop?

OverEZ chicken coops are designed with easy access for routine cleaning and maintenance. Large doors provide access to the interior, while the treated, resin-coated floor helps resist moisture and makes removing bedding and debris easier.

Regularly remove soiled bedding, clean the nesting and roosting areas, and check the coop for moisture, damage, or areas that may need maintenance. Keeping the coop clean and dry helps provide a healthier environment for your flock.

How are OverEZ chicken coops delivered?

OverEZ chicken coops are large products and are typically delivered by LTL freight on a pallet. The freight carrier will contact you regarding delivery, and you'll need to make sure your location can accommodate a large tractor-trailer.

Before accepting your shipment, inspect it carefully for damage and confirm that all expected pallets have arrived. Detailed delivery instructions, accessibility requirements, damage procedures, and shipping information are available in the OverEZ Shipping, Delivery & Returns tab on this page.

Do OverEZ chicken coops come with a warranty?

Yes. OverEZ chicken coops include a one-year manufacturer's warranty covering defects in the coop. OverEZ also offers customers the opportunity to register their coop for an extended 3-year warranty.

The standard warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or damage caused by weather or other external events such as wind, rain, snow, hail, or fire. See the OverEZ Warranty tab on this page for additional warranty and registration information.

OverEZ Shipping, Delivery, & Returns

OverEZ Shipping, Delivery, & Returns

At Four Leaf Coop Co, we want you to know what to expect before your OverEZ order arrives. OverEZ products ship directly from the manufacturer, with shipping included to most states. Delivery methods vary depending on the size of your order.

Shipping Rates

Free shipping is included on OverEZ orders to most states.

Due to higher freight costs, a 5% shipping surcharge applies to orders delivered to:

Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, Utah, and Washington.

OverEZ products are not currently available for delivery to Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada.

Small Parcel Delivery

Smaller OverEZ products, including many accessories, feeders, and waterers, are generally shipped by carriers such as FedEx or UPS.

These shipments are delivered directly to your address and typically do not require a delivery appointment.

Large Item & Freight Delivery

Larger OverEZ products, including chicken coops and runs, are shipped via LTL freight.

The freight carrier will contact you regarding delivery. Large freight shipments arrive by tractor-trailer, which may be 50 feet or longer, so it is important to make sure your delivery location can safely accommodate a vehicle of this size.

Freight carriers deliver only to the base of your driveway. Drivers are not required to travel up your driveway or place the shipment in a particular location on your property.

Is Your Property Accessible by Tractor-Trailer?

Your location may not be suitable for standard freight delivery if access includes:

  • Low-hanging branches
  • Single-lane roads
  • Gates or entry codes
  • Small or narrow bridges
  • Dirt roads or roads without an outlet
  • Insufficient space for a tractor-trailer to turn around
  • Island locations

If your property cannot accommodate a tractor-trailer, you may need to arrange an alternative directly with the freight carrier.

Options may include picking up your shipment from a nearby freight terminal or meeting the truck at an accessible location and transferring the shipment to another vehicle.

Customers are responsible for confirming that their delivery location is accessible before ordering.

Delivery Scheduling

Specific freight delivery dates and times cannot be guaranteed.

Customers are responsible for being available to coordinate and receive their shipment after purchase. Additional charges resulting from unsuccessful delivery attempts—including storage, re-consignment, or return shipping charges—may be the customer's responsibility.

Inspect Your Shipment Before Accepting Delivery

Please inspect all freight shipments carefully before accepting delivery.

If you notice minor damage to the packaging:

Write “DAMAGED” on the Bill of Lading (BOL) before accepting the shipment.

If the shipment has significant damage:

Refuse the delivery.

Take clear photographs of any damage and contact Four Leaf Coop Co immediately so we can help you with the next steps.

Do not allow the driver to complete damage notes on your behalf. Any damage should be documented by you on the BOL.

Missing Pallets or Items

Each OverEZ coop or run is generally shipped on its own pallet.

For example, an order containing one Large Chicken Coop and one Walk-In Chicken Run should arrive as two separate pallets.

Before signing for your shipment, verify that the number of pallets received matches the shipment documentation.

If anything is missing:

  • Record the number of missing pieces or pallets.
  • Write “SHORT” on the Bill of Lading.
  • Contact Four Leaf Coop Co immediately.
    • Phone: 518-288-5842
    • Email: support@fourleafcoop.com

Please personally document shortages on the BOL rather than allowing the delivery driver to complete the notation for you.

Questions About Your Delivery?

If you're unsure whether your property can accommodate freight delivery or have questions about an OverEZ shipment, please contact Four Leaf Coop Co before ordering. We're happy to help you determine what to expect.

Returns & Cancellations

We understand that plans can change. Because OverEZ products ship directly from the manufacturer and many items require freight transportation, please review the following return and cancellation information carefully before placing your order.

30-Day Returns

Eligible OverEZ products may be returned within 30 days of purchase.

To qualify for a return, the product must be:

  • Unused
  • In the same condition in which it was received
  • In its original packaging

All returns must be authorized before merchandise is shipped back. Please do not return an OverEZ product without first contacting Four Leaf Coop Co.

To begin a return, contact us at:

Phone: 518-288-5842
Email: support@fourleafcoop.com

We will assist you with the return process and applicable instructions.

Return Shipping Costs

Customers are responsible for the cost of returning eligible OverEZ products.

Shipping costs are non-refundable. If return shipping is arranged or paid on your behalf, the applicable shipping cost may be deducted from your refund.

Because chicken coops, runs, and other large OverEZ products require freight transportation, return shipping costs can be substantial. We strongly encourage customers to carefully review product dimensions, specifications, property access requirements, and other product information before ordering.

Order Cancellations

If you need to cancel an OverEZ order, please contact Four Leaf Coop Co as soon as possible.

OverEZ order cancellations are subject to a 5% restocking fee and applicable return shipping costs.

Once an order has entered the shipping or freight process, additional transportation or return-shipping charges may apply.

Because these costs are imposed in connection with the cancellation of the order, applicable restocking and shipping charges will be deducted from the customer's refund.

Refunds

Once an authorized return has been received and inspected, you will be notified regarding the status of your refund.

If approved, the eligible refund will be processed to the original payment method, less any applicable non-refundable shipping costs, restocking fees, or other charges associated with the return or cancellation.

Products that are returned used, damaged, missing parts, or otherwise not in their original condition may be subject to a partial refund or may not qualify for a refund.

Sale Items

Only regularly priced OverEZ products are eligible for refunds under the manufacturer's standard return policy.

Sale items are final sale and cannot be refunded.

Please review the product page carefully before purchasing a sale item.

Damaged or Defective Products

Freight damage is handled differently from a standard return.

As explained in the Inspect Your Shipment Before Accepting Delivery section above, please carefully inspect freight shipments when they arrive and document any visible damage on the Bill of Lading before accepting delivery.

For significant freight damage, refuse the shipment and contact Four Leaf Coop Co immediately.

If you discover a defect or other product issue after delivery, please contact us promptly so we can help determine the appropriate next steps.

Please keep all original packaging and take photographs of the product and packaging when reporting damage or defects.

Before Returning Any OverEZ Product

Do not ship an OverEZ product back without first contacting Four Leaf Coop Co.

Large-item and freight returns require coordination, and unauthorized returns may create additional shipping costs or delays.

Contact us first and we'll help you through the process.
