Fresh Pasture for Your Flock, One Move at a Time
The Porta Coop 6' × 8' Heritage Mobile Chicken Coop is a covered, open-air poultry enclosure designed to move with your flock. Instead of keeping birds on the same patch of ground, its mobile design makes it easy to regularly move the enclosure to fresh areas while keeping your chickens, broilers, or turkeys contained.
Porta Coop's one-step moving system is designed so your birds walk along inside the enclosure during the move, eliminating the need to catch and relocate the flock separately. Flat-free wheels make moving easier, while an extra-tall door provides convenient access for feeding, tending your birds, and loading poultry when needed.
Built around a 1.25" × 1.25", 16-gauge steel tubing frame, the Heritage features 14-gauge welded wire with 1" × 2" openings and a heavy-duty UV-resistant tarp that creates a covered area within the enclosure. Steel components are powder-coated after welding for added durability and protection. The result is a practical mobile setup for backyard poultry keepers and homesteaders who want to incorporate fresh-ground rotation into their flock management.

Assembly
The Heritage arrives ready for on-site assembly. The four main coop panels connect using pre-drilled mounting holes, followed by installation of the peak rafter, handle, wheel-lift system, wheels, and tarp system. The 6' × 8' Heritage includes a side-and-back tarp and roof tarp secured to the coop with bungees.
Porta Coop's assembly instructions call for common hand tools including a crescent wrench, 9/16” and 1/2” wrenches, tape measure, ratchet and sockets.
Porta Coop estimates assembly of the 6' × 8' Heritage at approximately 2 hours. The coop can be assembled by one person, although having two people can make the process easier.

Care & Maintenance
Regular maintenance helps keep your Heritage performing as intended. Porta Coop recommends checking and tightening loose fasteners every 3–6 months and inspecting the powder coating annually for scuffs, scratches or damaged areas that may need touch-up.
The tarp can be repaired with a quality canvas patch kit if damaged, and Porta Coop recommends replacing the ball bungees as they lose elasticity over time. Replacement parts are available from Porta Coop.
Important: Porta Coop instructs owners to position the coop so that it does not face directly into the wind to help prevent damage.
Cold-Weather Use
The Heritage is a covered, open-air mobile enclosure. Porta Coop offers a separate 6' × 8' Heritage Winter Kit for customers who want to extend use of the coop through winter. The Winter Kit is sold separately.
