Convenient Feeding from Outside the Coop

Keep feed accessible without stepping inside the enclosure with the Porta Coop Wise Green Feeder. Designed to mount along the coop enclosure, the feeder allows you to refill from outside while your birds access feed from inside.

Available in 10 lb and 20 lb feed capacities, the Wise Green Feeder is used in Porta Coop Haven packages and provides a convenient feeding setup for laying hens, broilers, and other poultry.

Designed to Help Reduce Feed Waste

The Wise Feeder features an adjustable feed-flow control, allowing you to regulate how quickly feed moves from the hopper into the feeding trough. Its trough design helps reduce birds scratching and scattering feed, while the elevated mounting position can also help limit access by rodents and other pests.

A built-in rain shield helps protect feed from the weather, and a fine-dust drain in the base helps prevent accumulated feed dust.

Easy Outside Access

The feeder can be mounted to the coop enclosure so the lid remains accessible from outside, allowing you to refill feed without entering the coop or disturbing your flock.

The mounting design also makes the feeder removable for cleaning or repositioning. The Wise Feeder is designed for use with free-flowing poultry feeds and is easy to maintain as part of your regular coop routine.

FAQ

What is the difference between the 10 lb and 20 lb Wise Green Feeders?

The primary difference is feed capacity. The 10 lb feeder holds up to 10 pounds of feed, while the 20 lb feeder provides twice the capacity for larger flocks or less frequent refilling.

Porta Coop uses the 10 lb Wise Green Feeder with its 6' × 8' Haven packages and the 20 lb Wise Green Feeder with its 10' × 12' Haven packages.

Can I fill the Wise Green Feeder from outside the coop?

Yes. The Wise Green Feeder is designed for outside access, allowing you to refill the feeder from outside the enclosure while your birds access their feed from inside.

This makes routine feeding more convenient and eliminates the need to enter the coop each time the feeder needs to be refilled.

Does the Wise Green Feeder help reduce wasted feed?

Yes. The feeder is designed to help limit chickens from scratching and scattering feed out of the trough. Its elevated mounting position can also help reduce access to the feed by rodents and other pests.

Can the feed flow be adjusted?

Yes. The Wise Green Feeder includes an adjustable feed-flow control that lets you regulate how quickly feed moves from the hopper into the feeding area.

How does the Wise Green Feeder attach to the coop?

The Wise Green Feeder is designed to be mounted to the coop enclosure rather than placed free-standing on the ground. The Wise feeder system can be mounted to wire mesh, allowing the feeding trough to remain accessible to the birds while the hopper can be positioned for convenient filling from outside the enclosure.

What type of feed can I use in the Wise Green Feeder?

The Wise Green Feeder is designed for free-flowing poultry feeds and works well with feeds such as pellets and corn. Because it is a gravity-fed design, layer mash is not recommended, as it may not flow through the feeder properly.

Is the Wise Green Feeder weather resistant?

The feeder includes a rain shield designed to help protect the feed from weather when properly installed. As with any poultry feeder, placement in a protected area can provide additional protection during severe weather.

Is this feeder included with Porta Coop packages?

The Wise Green Feeder is used with select Porta Coop Haven Layer and Broiler Packages.

The 6' × 8' Haven packages include a 10 lb feeder, while the 10' × 12' Haven packages include two 20 lb feeders to support the larger recommended flock sizes.

Why Buy From Us

Why Buy From Four Leaf Coop Co?

A chicken coop, greenhouse, or freeze dryer is a big purchase, and you may be buying from a store you’ve never heard of. Here’s what you can count on from us.

You’ll reach a real person.
Four Leaf Coop Co is founder-run. I’m Milissa, and when you call, text, or email, you’re talking with someone who knows these products, not a call center. Before you buy, we’ll help you compare sizes and options. After delivery, we’ll work with the manufacturer on your behalf if anything goes wrong.

Approved retailer for every brand we carry.
Your order ships directly from the manufacturer, so you get the same product and manufacturer warranty you’d get buying from them.

Every page checked against the manufacturer.
Specs, measurements, manuals, and warranty details are verified against the manufacturer’s own information, so what you read is what arrives.

No shipping surprises.
Each product page explains how that item ships, how long it takes, whether it comes by freight, and whether you’ll need help unloading it. You’ll know before you order, not on delivery day.

A smaller lineup, chosen carefully.
We’d rather carry fewer products we can stand behind than thousands of listings. Every product is vetted, including its customer reviews, before it goes on the site.
