The Porta Coop 10' × 12' Heritage Mobile Chicken Coop brings the Heritage mobile design to larger backyard flocks and small-scale poultry operations. Its spacious covered enclosure lets you rotate chickens, broilers, or turkeys onto fresh ground while keeping the flock together inside the coop.
Moving to a new area doesn't mean catching birds one at a time. Porta Coop's one-step moving system allows the flock to walk along inside as the enclosure moves. The integrated handle operates the wheel-lift system, while flat-free wheels help make regular pasture rotation more practical. An extra-tall door provides convenient access when feeding, caring for, or loading birds.
The Heritage is built with a 1.25" × 1.25", 16-gauge steel tubing frame and 14-gauge welded wire with 1" × 2" openings. Steel components are powder-coated after welding for added durability and protection. A heavy-duty UV-resistant tarp provides a covered portion of the enclosure. For the larger 10' × 12' model, two intermediate rafters provide additional support along the length of the coop.

Assembly
The 10' × 12' Heritage is assembled on-site using pre-drilled mounting holes to connect the four main panels. The peak rafter is installed along with two intermediate rafters used on the 10' × 12' model, followed by the handle, wheel-lift system, wheels, and tarp system. The side-and-back tarp and roof tarp are secured to the coop with bungees.
Porta Coop's assembly instructions call for common hand tools including a crescent wrench, 9/16” and 1/2” wrenches, tape measure, ratchet and sockets.
Porta Coop estimates assembly of the 10' × 12' Heritage at approximately 2.5 hours. The coop can be assembled by one person, although having two people makes the process easier, particularly with the larger models.

Care & Maintenance
Routine maintenance will help keep the Heritage operating properly over time. Porta Coop recommends inspecting the coop every 3–6 months for loose fasteners and tightening them as necessary. The powder-coated finish should also be checked annually, with scratched or damaged areas sanded lightly and touched up with a high-quality black gloss paint.
If the tarp develops a tear or slit, it can be repaired using a quality canvas patch kit. Ball bungees should be replaced when they begin to lose elasticity, and replacement components are available from Porta Coop when needed.
Important: To help prevent wind-related damage, position the Heritage so that it does not face directly into the wind.
Cold-Weather Use
The 10' × 12' Heritage is a covered, open-air mobile enclosure. Porta Coop offers a separate 10' × 12' Heritage Winter Kit for customers who want to extend use of the coop through winter. The Winter Kit is sold separately.
